Prato

There’s nothing I love more than discovering a new eatery. Although one of my many New Year’s resolutions includes cutting down my impulse shopping habits, it does not include cutting down on exploring new places to eat.

We stumbled upon this place as we strolled on Park Avenue, I recalled passing by here when it was still in its early stages of being built and was pleasantly surprised to find a calm but trendy atmosphere and a creative menu. Serving rustic Italian cuisine with a modern twist, Prato fulfilled all of my appetite’s wishes at the moment.

My date and I paired slices of their Widowmaker pizza (prosciutto, fennel sausage, kale, farm egg and romesco) with glasses of Cigar City Oatmeal Brown Ale and Swamphead Honey Cream Ale. I truly felt quite dainty while chowing down on pizza and beer at this lovely dinner spot.

Up until recently the only thing I knew about Woody Allen was that he married his step daughter, aside from that I hadn’t had the pleasure of being acquainted with any of his films. I saw “Midnight in Paris” for the second time and fell in love with it all over again. Although I’ve never felt a real desire to visit the city of lights, I couldn’t help but daydream about strolling the streets of Paris to the sounds of the music in this movie after watching it. I mean, people do have theme music following them around in Paris right? I hope Mr. Allen hasn’t fooled me.

Halloween.

My boyfriend had no problem showing more skin than the skank-ily clad women barely covering their genitalia on Halloween.

I find unique joy in experiencing a cheesy tradition with someone for the first time. My boyfriend had never carved a pumpkin in his life, so of course I jumped at the chance to have us carve some seriously scary squash.  Who knew someone could find gutting out a pumpkin and cutting out chunks of it so exciting. My lack of visual creativity is so obvious, clearly I was one of those kids in kindergarten who found it difficult to color inside the lines and glue macaroni to picture frames.

And so it begins…

After much peer pressure and persuasion I’ve finally decided to join the community of millions who turn to the internet to publish their thoughts and feelings. In hindsight this approach is no different than the old school method of recording ones inspirations and frustrations on frayed pages inside a diary, the main difference is that there is no lock or secret drawer to hide this in. It’s put out there for the whole world to see.

My usual analytic self requires that a general objective or point be established for everything in my life, and the point of this blog is to find a common place to collect my broad range of interests and inspirations.

I feel like I’ve reached a point in my life where my creativity has been muted, and after my brain has taken an indefinite hiatus from words, I can finally say it’s good to be back, I’m officially over my Post Graduation Depression. Hello world.
